Steam Fry Your Vegetables

Back to Basics Part 3 of food fridays how to steam fry vegis.

I like to cook my vegis in water of vegetable broth. I’m not against added oil but it is healthier to add at the end of cooking. This method is super simple all you really need are your vegis and a pot or pan. You don’t even need a steamer basket. It works for almost all vegetables so be creative.

Chop your vegis into bite sized pieces.

Bring approx. 2 Tbs. of water to a boil in your pot. Add vegis, cook for 2-5 min. till done but still crunchy. If you need more water while cooking  just add a splash.

Add salt, herbs, garlic, chili peppers, olive or coconut oil to taste.

I put at teaspoon of coconut oil, chili garlic sauce because I always like things spicy and salt in this batch.

Perfect to take with me for dinner at the office.
