Hummus

I unpractically live on hummus! Love it, it’s super healthy, is cheap to make, travels well and you can eat with vegis, rice crackers in wraps or sandwiches.

What is your favorite way to eat hummus?

Here is a great basic hummus recipe with a couple of options like adding artichokes which is delicious! To make it quick use canned garbanzo beans (chickpeas). Hummus should mostly be made by taste. Taste often as making.

Add ingredients to food processor or blender I prefer the food processor.

1 can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed

Juice of 1 lemon

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 – 4 Tbs. roasted Tahini (tahini is a bit of an aquired taste start with just a bit and add more if you like)

salt to taste

1 large clove garlic

If you need more liquid to make your hummus smooth you can add water till you reach the right consistently.

*** optional ingredients to add

1 can artichokes, drained

or

1 cup herbs, basil, cilantro, parsley

or

ground cumin and hot sauce
